CAPSOL offers many options for upgrading
human resource training and supervision in the private sector.
Options are wide-ranging and emphasize increasing the information
in the hands of the trainer, mentor, or supervisor, that
pertain to how the target individual or group learns
most effectively.
Identifying learner strengths or preferences equips the
trainer, supervisor, or mentor with the information that
is consistent with how the target individual/group see themselves
regarding their most successful way of learning. Identifying
the learning style of the audience prepares
the instructor teaching a skill or concept, or a supervisor
providing directions, to teach the information to the learners
strength, thereby greatly increasing the recipients understanding.
The learning styles measured are Auditory (listening skills),
Visual (ability to follow written directions or interpret
charts/graphs), Bodily-Kinesthetic (comfort or proficiency
with actual hands-on experience or demonstrations), Group
(collaborative skills in working with others in learning
or finding information and problem solving), Individual
(confidence in using individual skills and talents
in learning and addressing new problems. Oral Expressive
(more precisely communicates a point of view by verbal description),
Written Expressive (more precisely communicates a point
of view by writing about their understanding, Sequential
(exhibits a preference for step by step instructions in
following/giving directions, Global ( preference for understanding
what the end result will be and how it fits into the total
picture. Prescriptions are suggested as part of the CAPSOL
program to assist the trainer/supervisor/mentor in addressing
options based on the recipient's learning profile.
